How long is a session?
One hour of climbing. Sessions run for 1 hour 15 minutes in total, including the harness fitting and safety talk, and start on the hour every hour. Arrive 10–15 minutes before your session.
Is there an age limit?
No minimum or maximum age. Children under 13 need an adult to check their attachment points before each climb, and groups of kids need one adult per five children.
Do I need climbing experience or gear?
Neither. Harness hire is included in your entry price and our trained staff fit you and brief you before you climb. Every climb uses an automatic belay, so you don't need a belay partner.
What should we wear?
Loose comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. Sandals and jandals are unsuitable for climbing.
Can parents watch without climbing?
Yes — spectators are free, and so is entry for over 65s.
Do we need to book?
Bookings at weekends and during school holidays are strongly recommended. Call 09 630 6040 or send a booking request and we'll confirm.
What are the Leap of Faith and Vertical Drop Slide?
Our two extra challenges, alongside the 34 climbs. $5 each or $9 for the combo — bring some loose change. The birthday person gets both free on pre-booked birthdays.
What is the RealRoc wall?
A natural-featured indoor wall with cracks, laybacks and overhangs, and 25+ graded climbs from 13 to 24 using conventional holds — all on auto belay. A RealRoc-only ticket is $15, valid anytime (no Clip 'N Climb elements).
Can you open outside your normal hours?
Usually, yes. We take group bookings outside opening hours wherever possible — flick us an email or call to discuss.
Where do we park?
We're in the Capitol Cinema Building at 610 Dominion Road, Mount Eden / Balmoral, with street parking on and around Dominion Road.
